Trend Discourse: The Pouch Clutch

I remember pre-2010 that the trend was to have these big and bold looking purses with lots of details and embellishments (ie: Fendi Spy, Chloe Paddington, Marc Jacobs Stam Bag, Louis Vuitton Murakami). There has a been a big shift now in recent years to very minimalistic and more simpler looking bags (ie: Givenchy Antigona, Celine Box Bag, Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola, Saint Laurent Sac du Jour). I can't lie when I say that I much prefer the classic and minimalistic silhouettes that are on trend now. Still, I was slightly surprised when I observed that the market was flooding with "pouch clutches" which I see as the ultimate pinnacle of minimalistic chic. Luckily, it's easy to afford this trend and it's even more easy to incorporate this purse into your wardrobe!

I ❤ NY: Dining at Tanoshi Sushi & Sake Bar

I recently went to dine at Tanoshi, an omakase style sushi restaurant on the Upper East Side. I am a highly avid and fervent lover of sushi. I always say that if I could eat one type of food for the rest of my life it would be sushi. I especially love sushi that focuses on enhancing the natural flavor of the fish. My friends and I waited over a month to sit at Tanoshi which is a 12 seater, reservation only establishment. If you're also a fellow sushi lover (or you like to look at food porn pictures), click through the jump to see photos & my review of my entire omakase dinner at Tanoshi!

Product Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack

I was really excited when I read that Target will now be carrying a select few brands including the Korean skincare brand Laneige. Unless you live in Los Angeles, Korean skincare is something that is relatively hard to purchase in person and if you're like me, I like seeing beauty products in person first. Now that Target will be carrying a few products from Laneige, it will become highly accessible to everyone in the states. I thought I'd do a review on Laneige's most famous product - the Water Sleeping Pack. I first heard about this product years ago and I knew I had to get my hands on it one day. So should you tryout the Sleeping Pack for yourself? Read my review after the jump and decide for yourself!

Beauty Discourse: My Favorite Red Lip Shades

Finding the perfect red lipstick is like finding that perfect pair of jeans; it looks right, it feels right, it accents all your natural features, and you wear it with absolutely everything & anything. Unfortunately, there are so many red lipsticks out there that it can be hard to find the one right for you. Fortunately, I do have a couple favorite lipsticks that work very well with my skin tone. Wedding Attire - Three Outfits for Under $250

Today is the spring solstice which marks the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere (honestly though, it doesn't feel like spring in NYC! It's still 40° here!). Spring means a lot of things to people. To me, spring means the onset of seasonal allergies (ugh) but traditionally it also means the beginning of wedding season. This year I have 2 weddings to go to and if you're like me, you do recycle your dresses, but you don't prefer to wear the same dress twice in a row. So, if you're on a budget but are in the market to buy a new dress to wear to a wedding, click through the jump to see three looks (dress, shoes, & an accessory) all for under $250!

Finding Shoes for Women Who have Size 5 Feet or Smaller

Chances are, if you read my finding clothing for extra petite women post because you're petite sized, you are also reading this post because you have small feet as well. I define small feet as size 5 or smaller. I have size 5 feet, and ladies who share this special size with me know how heartbreaking it is to see a pair of shoes you love, but the smallest size they come in is a size 6. You probably also have walked into a shoe store and when the SA asks "do you need any help?" you just reply, "do you carry size 5 shoes?" because you don't want to waste your time browsing just to find out the entire store is devoid of size 5 shoes.

As a teenager, I remember a time where only the very high end luxury brands carried all their styles in a size 5. Obviously I couldn't afford Manolos or CLs when I was in high school. Luckily though, I've noticed that in the past 4-5 years a couple more mainstream shoe brands have been making size 5 shoes and smaller. Over the years, I have complied list of shoe brands I know carry my size, and if you're interested in seeing the list as well as some of my picks from a few of the brands, click through the jump! Warning - long post ahead!

I ❤ NY: Places to Shop When Visiting New York City

Everyone knows probably the biggest downfall to living in New York City is the high rent and tiny spaces. On the upside, you can get practically anything in the city! Honestly, it's probably one of the top reasons why most of us even put up with the high rent (and the weather in my case since I'm originally from California). There have been many times where I've read about a product online or someone somewhere on the blogosphere has raved about said product, and it's easy for me to go get it in person because the brand almost always has a storefront in NYC. So for those of you who are thinking of visiting New York City or are visiting NYC soon, click through the jump to see the list!

Product Review: Michael Todd True Organics

Like many others who subscribe to makeup & beauty gurus on Youtube, I first heard of Michael Todd True Organics from them. I eventually bought the Sensitive Skin Regimen because it was already discounted on the Michael Todd website & I had a coupon code which bought it down to only $62 for 6 full size products. I'm very glad I took the plunge and purchased the kit because there were some amazing products in the kit! I recently purchased a new product & repurchased two products from the kit and will be reviewing them in this post. If you're new to Michael Todd and aren't sure which products to try, click through the jump!

Trend Discourse: The Asymmetrical Origami Skirt

For spring 2014, there is one particular skirt that I'm seeing absolutely everywhere - the asymmetrical origami mini skirt. The origami skirt look isn't completely new (think the Zara mini skort with origami flaps that was worn by every fashion blogger and Lookbooker) but the asymmetrical hem and zip detailing is new. To see some of my picks of the skirt as interpreted by several retailers, and how I would style the skirt, click through the jump!

Furnishing Your Home on a Budget - 3 Living Room Looks for Under $1000

Furnishing a new home can be very expensive, but it's completely affordable if you take the time to research and look for deals. I know most people automatically think of Ikea when they hear "affordable furniture," but there is a world of great furniture beyond Ikea! Here are three looks that I put together, all for under $1,000 which include the bare necessities such as a sofa, rug, coffee table, and media stand, plus some miscellaneous extras in each look. Also, the majority of the items in each look aren't from Ikea!! If you're interested in seeing the looks, click through the jump!

My Vanity - DIY Makeover Part 1

As you might already know if you read my post on Home Decor Flash Sale Sites, my boyfriend and I just recently moved into our new apartment and it's completely unfurnished. Of course, consistent with New York City living, our apartment is a tiny one bedroom. However, although the space is small, we each still have a tiny sliver of space in the apartment to call our own. He has a mini bar cart in the living room where he creates his own concoctions and conducts his drink experiments, while I have my vanity in the bedroom.
