Winter Beauty Necessities

Cold winter weather - some of you may love the chilly winter air, but your skin may not like it as much as you. I'm pretty sure most of us suffer from somewhat flaky, tight, and under-moisturized skin at some point in the winter time. I've already switched over to my winter skincare routine and some of you probably have already switched out some products as well since it's mid-December. So I thought I'd share with you all my winter skincare product necessities!

1. Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer - I've been using this stuff since I was a sophomore in college. I always pull it out of my beauty cabinet during the winter as my basic everyday moisturizer, or when my skin needs extra hydration in other parts of the year. It doesn't feel greasy, soaks in fast, it's scentless, no-frills and reasonably priced.

2. Avene Cicalfate - Since Cicalfate is a very thick and rich cream, I only use it on areas where my skin is flaky (or on blemishes that are healing). It's probably an amazing all over face moisturizer for those who have sensitive dry skin. Thick and hydrating, but unlike other similarly thick creams, your skin actually soaks it all in.

3. Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask - I love this overnight mask (full review here) because you feel the difference in your skin right away after putting it on. I use this three to four times a week during the winter because it creates a hydrating barrier between my skin and the heat  from the heater which always dries out your skin even more in the winter.

4. Josie Maran Argan Oil - To really boost the intensity of my Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer, I add one drop of argan oil. Sometimes facial oils get a bad reputation for being a product that never soaks into your skin, but that only happens when you use too much (and it's very easy to use too much with the dropper as a dispenser). Trust me, one drop is sufficient but it makes a difference!

5. Mamonde Flower Essential Mask - Last but not least is the sheet mask. Any sheet mask will do since they provide major moisturization for your skin. It's nice to pamper your skin and have a mini spa session once or twice a week right?
