Makeup Philosophies - Weekday versus Weekend Makeup

I can't be the only one who wears different makeup on the weekend than during the weekday right? My philosophy for weekday makeup is different from my weekend makeup since during the weekday my makeup has to last around 10 hours. Since I wear makeup 5 days out of the week, I like to let my skin rest and breathe as much as I can during the weekend.

Weekday Makeup Philosophy - long lasting & minimal touch ups

My biggest goal during the week is to have a makeup look that lasts all day. I don't usually have time to touch up my makeup at work nor do I like carrying makeup products in my bag, so I choose products that have superior staying power. I also don't want to spend too long getting ready in the morning, so I use products that are easy to blend. Eyeshadow primer is crucial in keeping my eye makeup on all day, and my favorite eye shadow primer is the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I also switch between MAC's Face & Body Foundation and the Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder Foundation since both are very long lasting on my skin.

Weekend Makeup Philosophy - light, moisturizing, and minimal

If I don't have any special engagements going on during the weekend, I like to wear minimal makeup that's nourishing and beneficial to my skin. This means that for foundation, I wear BB cream because it's akin to a tinted moisturizer with added benefits for your skin. If my skin's condition is good, I just wear some concealer if I can get away with it. As you can see above, I also don't wear any eye makeup on the weekends.
