I ❤ NY: 5 Things I Love About New York

Flowers on the High Line

It's the dead of winter in one of the coldest months here in New York City, and I'm very much looking forward to warmer weather in the spring. While going through my photos that I've taken in NYC when the weather was much more pleasant, I reminded myself that there are things about NYC that are great all year round. Subsequently, in an attempt to get me through winter, I thought I'd share five things that I love about New York.

1. The Buildings & Architecture

The Upper West Side is probably my favorite neighborhood in Manhattan, and this building always catches my eye since it's near one of my most favorite sushi restaurants. New York City is filled with gorgeous buildings like this, so I always remember to take some time and look up once in a while.

2. The High Line

You've probably heard of the High Line Park before, but just in case you haven't, it's essentially an old elevated train track that has been transformed and repurposed into a park. It's lovely to walk through when the weather is nice and especially during a clear day. Since it's elevated off the ground, you're also away from the hustle and bustle of the streets.

3. ABC Carpet & Home

It's a home decor lover's dream! Six huge stories of home decor pieces, and each floor is tailored to a couple specific themes. I like to wander in here sometimes to get some inspiration, and oogle at all the treasures the store has to offer.

4. Museums & Art Galleries

There is always something to see in New York, and the two photos above were from past art exhibitions I've blogged about. First photo - Jeff Koons. Second Photo - Murakami.

5. Bodega Flowers

This might not be one of the first things you think of when New York pops into your mind, but I personally always love the abundance of flowers at local bodegas around the city.
