Trend Discourse: Embellished Strap Sandals

Despite the Birkenstock making a strong fashion comeback as a popular summertime sandal choice, I myself am eyeing another type of thick strapped sandal. Lately I've been seeing a common shoe silhouette on offer - a thick strapped sandal with embellished jewels. I think that Marni came out with the sandal first and started the whole trend. Some styles have a low heel and some are flat. I'm partial to the styles that have a low heel on them since it makes the sandal look slightly more dressier. As long as there aren't too many jewels on the sandal, I think they make for a nice statement shoe, but more importantly they're comfortable!

Beauty Discourse: The Best Non-Greasy Sunscreen

Summer is now in full swing, and that means I'm extra thankful for having a sunscreen in my beauty cabinet that I absolutely adore. I'm super picky about my sunscreens because most tend to make my face greasier and they feel very heavy on my face. I went through about 4-5 different types of sunscreens that all claimed to be "non-greasy, light, and oil-free" but they sure didn't feel like they had all these qualities. Enter Shiseido's Urban Environment sunscreen - my holy grail sunscreen that is the lightest sunscreen I have ever used.

I ❤ NY: Places to Buy Korean Makeup & Beauty Brands in NYC

One of the many great things about living in NYC is the plethora of shops that carry hard to find brands in the US. Although it's never going to be as good as Korea, NYC is a close second when it comes to finding Korean beauty brands. Slowly but surely, I've noticed that the Korean brands are opening up storefronts here and there in Manhattan and in Queens. Among the brands that have full standalone storefronts in New York are Club Clio, Skinfood, Tony Moly, Holika Holika, Missha, Nature Republic, and It's Skin. Click through to see the addresses of all these brands and more! Hint, most of the brands are located in Flushing, Queens so you can hit up all the storefronts in one trip!

Home Discourse: Some Gorgeous Marble Interiors

I'm always attracted to marble interiors no matter how much marble is in the space. I love how the material looks whether it's in a bathroom, kitchen, tabletop, or accessories. It's one of those classic looks that will never age and never go out of style. Although marble comes in many different colors, of course I'm partial to the white Carrara marble. I especially love white marble interiors that are contrasted with gold accessories!

My Summer Bucket List

Did I mention that this blog is sort of like a personal bucket list for me? This is especially true when it comes to all the draft posts and topics that are waiting to be written and posted. Essnentially, the draft posts are things that I hope to eventually find or do. Well, instead of hiding it behind the blog curtain, I thought I'd share a couple things on my bucket list for this summer. There are some places that I want to visit and of course some beauty products that I hope to discover! Of course, I hope to cross off all the items on my list, and to write about them on the blog!

Home Discourse: Books for Your Coffee Table

This year's Met Costume Institution Exhibit's book. Full post here

I've been a bookworm every since I was young and therefore I always love looking at other's people's bookshelves and coffee tables. If the shelves or coffee table are stacked with gorgeous books, I immediately want to pick one up and browse the pages. Maybe it's just a weird quirk of mine, but when I'm out and about, I'm always keeping an eye out for unique books to fill my home with. I especially love the bookstore located inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art because they have such an extensive collection of books from a large range of genres. Click through for some coffee table book inspiration!

Currently Craving: Panama Hats

After already experiencing the first scorcher days here in NYC, I've sadly realized that cooler weather is behind us and only hot humid days await us for the next couple months. I honestly find it much harder, at least for myself personally, to dress in the summer because I overheat so easily! One thing is for sure, I definitely wear lots and lots of facial sunscreen in the summer months, but I also am craving a panama hat in order to keep my face out of the sun.

Product Review: Clinique Cheek Pop in Berry Pop

Ever since the Clinique Cheek Pops came out a couple seasons ago, every single shade has been given rave reviews by all beauty enthusiasts alike. Usually when a brand releases a product line, there are some shades that are winners, and some that are not so good. It's not often you find a product line where every shade is amazing, but that's what I've been consistently reading in every product review about the Cheek Pops. My review won't be an exception, these blushes are such a great formula!

Link Love: Urban Decay's New Smokey Palette, "Get It Beauty", & a Tiny Travel Sized Humidifier

1. TRAVEL: There are so many gorgeous places in the world, and some of the places on this list featuring "natural swimming pools" have just made it onto my traveling bucket list.

2. BEAUTY: Urban Decay just launched a brand new palette! This time it's for smokey eye lovers.

3. HOME: I admire dark and glamorous interiors because I'm pretty sure I probably won't have the courage to paint the walls in my future home dark. Check out this home in the suburbs that has black walls in the dining room!

4. VIDEO: I've been selfish and hiding an amazing show from all my readers - the Korean beauty show "Get It Beauty." Watch the entire current season on Soompi, complete with English Subtitles!

5. HOME: I love gray interiors, and if you do too, click through to see 66 pictures of gray kitchens!

6. NOVELTY: Whenever I travel, my skin definitely takes a beating. While I'm usually oily skinned at home, my skin can range from being super dry or overly oily when I'm traveling. Furthermore, sometimes the air in the hotel room is so drying. That's why when I came across this travel size humidifier, I was ecstatic! All you need is a normal sized bottle of water, and a USB port!!

Home Discourse: Candles

Recently I've been on a candle obsession - trying and hunting for new alluring scents to fill my apartment home with has been on the top of my shopping list lately! When I was younger, I almost always stuck to the fruity scents, and while I still do love the fruity sweet scented candles, I find myself drawn to more complex and sophisticated scents as of late. There is just something so relaxing about burning a lovely candle for a scent that pervades your entire living space.

Trend Discourse: Crossover Draped Pants

First culottes, now draped crossover pants. I personally am more partial to the latter trend that is featured in today's trend discourse post. I think the draped crossover detail on these pants add a touch of the unexpected, but it is still a subtle enough detail where it could be worn to a conservative work place. I would choose a tighter slimmer cut for work pants, but I also do adore this particular style of pants when it's slightly less fitted with fabric that easily moves & flows.

Product Review: YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain in #11 Rouge Gouache

YSL makes some of the best lip products in my opinion, and I was looking for a lip product that had the lasting power of a lip stain, the color payoff of a lipstick, but most importantly a product that did not make my lips dry out. I didn't know such a lip product with these three qualities existed until I tried YSL's lip lacquer lip stain. I have a similar lip shade color from Innisfree's Color Glow lip line (reviewed here). Click through to see swatches, comparisons, and a review!

Currently Craving: Oxford & Brogue Shoes

I've always loved menswear inspired clothing for women, and since I often wear a suit to work, I have been on the hunt for oxford shoes. When I saw these quirky Jeffrey Campbell oxfords with a hollow heel, I knew I had to have them. Although I primarily got these to wear to work, I knew I would also be wearing them casually out on the weekends as well. Click through for some inspiration.
