Product Review: Clinique Cheek Pop in Berry Pop

Ever since the Clinique Cheek Pops came out a couple seasons ago, every single shade has been given rave reviews by all beauty enthusiasts alike. Usually when a brand releases a product line, there are some shades that are winners, and some that are not so good. It's not often you find a product line where every shade is amazing, but that's what I've been consistently reading in every product review about the Cheek Pops. My review won't be an exception, these blushes are such a great formula!

Review

Berry Pop is a bright and vivid hot pink. It's probably the most vibrant shade out of the entire line. It's heavily pigmented, and it's easy to apply too much with this blush. Less is definitely more should be the philosophy when you're apply this shade! In terms of application, I tend to "stipple" it onto the apples of my cheeks as I find that I get a more natural finish. I love that it's a very creamy blush and that the powder is very finely milled. It's also scentless. I use the blush when I'm wearing mineral foundation and not liquid foundation because the blush doesn't apply as well over liquid foundation. It does have some slight shimmer particles in it, but it's nothing like NARS Orgasm. Wear wise, I got a pretty good 5-7 hours of wear with the blush before it disappeared. I have oily skin though, so I see this potentially lasting longer on combination to dry skin gals.

  • PROS: good color payoff, scentless, great formula, long lasting.
  • CONS: doesn't apply well over liquid foundations.

Concluding Remarks

This is a great blush! I have to also mention that I absolutely love the packaging of these blushes - they're so playful and fun! If I wasn't on a personal ban to not buy unnecessary makeup items, I would probably opt for Heather Pop and Nude Pop. The formula of these blushes are great and therefore you really can't go wrong with any shade that you choose!
