Product Review: Be the Skin Power Botanical Serum

I hope everyone had an amazing Labor Day weekend! I'm almost done with my Innisfree Sparkling Mineral Water Essence (reviewed here), so I recently picked up a new serum by Be the Skin (a Korean skincare brand) as the new serum in my skincare routine. I've never tried anything by Be the Skin before, but I've read good things about the brand and how they offer great products for an affordable price. Their most expensive product is priced at $39, while the entire product line ranges from $25 - $39.

Be the Skin Botanical Nutrition Serum, 1.69oz
Price: $35

Be The Skin Botanical Nutrition Serum is an all-natural serum that hydrates and firms the skin, keeping it soft and smooth. Massage a small amount into clean skin for long-lasting results, thanks to gentle but powerful phytopower ingredients. Ideal for all skin types.

Water, laurus nobilis leaf extract, butylene glycol, cetyl ethylhexanoate, glycerin, cyclopentasiloxane, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, sodium hyaluronate, cetearyl alcohol, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose, distearate, cetearyl olivate, sorbitan olivate, saccharide isomerate, disodium adenosine triphosphate, algin, carica papaya (papaya) fruit extract, artemisia umbelliformis extract, buddleja davidii extract, thymus vulgaris (thyme) extract, piper methysticum leaf/root/stem extract, dimethicone, dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone cross polymer, phenoxyethanol, arginine, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, methylparaben, ethylparaben, carbomer, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium acrylate/ sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, butylparaben, fragrance

The serum is housed in a beautiful evergreen tinted glass bottle. It feels really nice in your hands and not cheap at all. At $35, I'm really impressed with the packaging. As for the serum itself, it's a milky white but not too thickly textured serum. Once you spread it over your skin it turns into a more watery serum that is easily absorbed. The green botanical serum is formulated for combination to oily skin, and the sales associate also said it is safe for acne prone skin. The serum has a nice light herbal fragrance to it - I personally really like the scent. I can't really say it's done more to my skin however except give it more moisturization.

Concluding Remarks

Although I am in love with the packaging and the scent of this serum, I can't confidently say it's done anything more than provide some extra hydration to my skin. Thankfully it didn't break me out however, so I think it's safe for those of you with acne prone skin. If you have particularly dry skin, try the Botanical Nutrition Power Serum which is housed in the orange/yellow ombre bottles. Be the Skin is available for purchase via Urban Outfitters.
