Beauty Discourse: My Favorite Beauty Items - Holiday Edition

There are a couple items that I bring out every year during the holiday season because incorporating them into a makeup look makes me feel all that more festive. It's going to be no surprise that most of the beauty items are primarily red or gold, but the combination of the two during the holiday season is always a safe bet! I'll be jetting back to California this week to visit my family during Christmas, so today's post will be the last post before my short hiatus!

Nail Polishes

OPI Big Apple Red
OPI's most famous and flagship red polish is great all year round, but it definitely is the perfect shade of bright cheery red!

Essie Stylenomics
I think it's rather difficult to find a dark rich green polish, but when I saw Essie's Stylenomics, I feel in love at first sight. It's a rather dark green so it may look black in certain lighting, but I really love how deep and rich the green is on the nails.

OPI My Favorite Ornament
OPI's My Favorite Ornament is my absolute favorite polish to wear during the holidays. It's a super dense glitter polish that is completely opaque in two coats. Plus, it dries super fast, and the removal process isn't as annoying as you would expect!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Half Baked
Gold eyeshadow can be quite a tricky shade to wear because not all shades of gold are the same, and they could clash with your skintone. Some of the gold eyeshadows I've tried in the past are either too yellow toned, too light, or too copper toned. If you are fair and have yellow undertones like me, try out Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Half Baked - it's highly pigmented and looks metallic like on the lids!

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in Midnight Cowboy
Another eye product from Urban Decay that I love to wear during the holidays. The Heavy Metal Liner is a liner made with glitter! I use it to accent my cat eye, or I layer it on top of eyeshadow to give it that extra sparkle.

Lancome Rouge in Love in Sequins Damour (formerly called Sequence of Love)
This is my favorite red lipstick, and I love wearing it when I have gold eye makeup on!

YSL Rouge pur Couture Vernis in Rouge Gouache
Don't want to wear red but you still want a festive bright lip color? Try YSL's lip lacqur in Rouge Gouache - a berry shade that's vivid and just as rich as a red lip!

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme Perfume
Do you have perfume that you only wear during certain seasons? For me, I only wear Pour Femme by Dolce & Gabbana during the colder months. When I first smelled this perfume, it just reminded me of the holiday season because of it's aromatic base of sandalwood & vanilla but it's also slightly sweet due to the raspberry, neroli, and orange blossom notes.
