A Dupe for Diptyque's Baies Candle

Baies - probably Diptyque's most famous candle scent that is primarily notes of black currant and Bulgarian roses. It was love at first sniff for me, but definitely not love at first price. I'll be fully frank and say I burn my black Baies candle rarely as I love the scent so much, but since I love the scent so much it's rather hard to resist. That is, until I stumbled upon what my nose recognized to be a much cheaper dupe for Baies.

I'm going to assume that if you love Baies, you love the aroma of black currant. While I know scents smell differently to everyone, to me the strongest note in Baies is the black currant and not the roses. That's why the Black Currant candle from Henri Bendel smelled almost exactly like the Baies candle. The Black Currant candle from Henri Bendel has top notes of black currant, galbanum (gum resin), and tomato leaf. A heart of rose and white flower, and base notes of oakmoss, orris, vanilla and musk. Essentially all the necessary and crucial notes, black currant, rose and tomato leaf, that I smell in Baies are in the Black Currant candle by Henri Bendel. And at only $30, with frequent promotions that bring the candle down as low as $25, it's a much more affordable option than Baies (standard Diptyque candles start at $60). So go on, trust me, go smell the Black Currant candle by Henri Bendel and you'll smell for yourself the striking similarities. Even more good news? Henri Bendel also makes the Black Currant scent as a diffuser if you don't want the candle version.
