Product Review: Sunday Riley Luna & Good Genes

Up for review today are two products that have been getting an insane amount of attention and buzz in the beauty industry - Good Genes and Luna which are both by Sunday Riley. Sunday Riley's beauty line is considered very high end with most of her products ranging in the $80-100 price bracket. Both Good Genes and Luna each retail at a whopping $105 for the full size, and since I wasn't ready to shell out over $200 for only two skincare products, $78 for 0.5oz each of Good Genes and Luna from the Power Couple set available exclusively at Sephora was a much more bearable cost to swallow.

Skincare Package from Amore Pacific & Aritaum

Amore Pacific by way of  Aritaum was very kind enough to send me* some skincare products to test out and review in anticipation of their expansion into the US market! Amore Pacific is one of the biggest Korean makeup and beauty conglomerates in South Korea. I've already reviewed and mentioned a lot of their brands on the blog which include IOPE, Hera, Laneige, Innisfree, Mamonde, & their flagship brand Amore Pacific which is already available at high end department stores and Sephoras here in the States. This is just a small sampling of products that will start to be more widely available to consumers in the US!

*These products were provided to me care of Amore Pacific, but all opinions are my own.

Beauty Discourse: My Current Skincare Routine Spring 2016

Today I wanted to share my current skincare routine - morning, night, and including what products I use to remove my makeup. I had a bout of breakouts a couple weeks ago out of nowhere (I blame the weather transition from winter to spring), but I'm currently breakout free and I'm pretty sure I owe it to several new products that I've incorporated into my skincare routine. I'm currently really enjoying this skincare routine as I've made it a point going into the new year to invest in quality skincare products to combat my acne and hyperpigmentation.

Product Review: Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser

A cleanser with clay in it? Yep. Usually clay is the main ingredient in masks, so a clay based cleanser was something new and intriguing to me. One of Ceramic Slip's primary ingredients is refined French Green Clay. The cleanser is one out of four Sunday Riley products that I've recently purchased, and from reading reviews and video interviews with Sunday Riley, her products are supposed to work better together. So is Ceramic Slip worth the hefty $45 pricey tag? Read on to see!

Product Review: Dr. Hauschka Daily Facial Toner

When I was first made aware of Dr. Hauschka's organic skincare brand years ago, it was only available to purchase online and at Whole Foods. Since then, Dr. Hauschka is now available at most Duane Reades here in NYC and so one night on a whim when repurchasing some of my favorite products from Avene, I also decided to purchase and try out the Facial Toner. Even though it's sold at the drugstore, I consider the brand to be a luxury organic skincare brand given that one of her moisturizers is $75. Continue reading to see whether I think Facial Toner is worth the purchase!

Sephora Spring 2016 Sale Haul

"Quality and not quantity" is a motto that I try to live by, so I tried really hard to stick to that motto when deciding what to purchase for the Sephora VIB spring sale event. As you can see from above, my haul was little but pricey! I concentrated on exclusively skincare items since I didn't need anything in the markup department. I also decided to splurge and purchase Sunday Riley items since I've been dying to try her products out for the longest time, and Luna has been on the top of my wishlist for a couple months now.

Charlotte Olympia x MAC - Leading Lady Red & Starlet Scarlett Lipsticks

I'm such a sucker for pretty packaging already, but when makeup items are housed in clear acrylic and gold packaging I just cannot not purchase the items! So imagine my reaction when I saw these limited edition MAC x Charlotte Olympia lipsticks that are pretty much my dream packaging when it comes any and all makeup items. Although I already own red lipsticks that I love, I played enabler to myself with the justification that I didn't have red lipsticks that looked like these and imagined how they would look displayed on my vanity. Click through to see the rest of this impulsive (but gorgeous) purchase!

Product Review: NeoGen Gauze Peeling Wine Exfoliation Pads

Continuing with the wine in skincare theme from Monday, today's posts is a review on NeoGen's wine infused facial exfoliation pads. I was attracted to these pads because I don't have anything like them in my skincare collection. While exfoliation pads are common at the drugstore, these exfoliation pads are double sided with one side having a rougher surface for exfoliating while the other side is softer and meant to "sweep up" your dead skin cells. Plus, these are the first pads that I've come across that use resveratrol.

Product Review: Holika Holika Wine Therapy Sleeping Mask

I've been drinking a lot of wine lately - well, my skin has been anyway! Today and Wednesday I'll be reviewing two Korean skincare products that feature wine as the star skincare ingredient. So why wine? First, wine is essentially fermented grapes and if you've tried any of the fermented essences in your skincare routine, you'll already know that most fermented ingredients are great for your skin. Second, wine (but specifically the skin of the grapes) produces an compound called "resveratrol" that is known to contain tons of antioxidants which are great for anti-aging. First up from the two products that I'll be reviewing this week is the Wine Therapy Sleeping Mask in red wine by Holika Holika.

La Vie En Rose - Beauty Products Infused with Rose

I have been obsessed with everything rose lately from my shampoo to my perfume. It's especially luxurious in skincare and supposedly helps with inflammation, acne, and eczema. Personally, I just love the smell of rose in skincare and body care, even my current everyday perfume is also rose scented (Diptyque's L'Ombre dans L'eau). Click through to see some of the rose infused skincare and body care products that I'm currently enjoying.
