Product Review: Dr. Hauschka Daily Facial Toner

When I was first made aware of Dr. Hauschka's organic skincare brand years ago, it was only available to purchase online and at Whole Foods. Since then, Dr. Hauschka is now available at most Duane Reades here in NYC and so one night on a whim when repurchasing some of my favorite products from Avene, I also decided to purchase and try out the Facial Toner. Even though it's sold at the drugstore, I consider the brand to be a luxury organic skincare brand given that one of her moisturizers is $75. Continue reading to see whether I think Facial Toner is worth the purchase!

Review

First off, I love the ingredient list and how simplistic it is which is a nice change from the enormously long ingredient lists that are the norm these days. I also enjoy the smell and the most prominent notes I smell are citrus with a hint of earthy greens. It comes in a spray bottle which is the only way I that I use toner. The spray isn't as fine as the Muji spray containers that I usually decant my toners into, but it is fine enough that it doesn't force me to decant this toner into a Muji one. Dr. Hausckha makes two types of spray on toners, the Clarifying Toner and the Facial Toner, but I prefer my toners to hydrate and prep my skin for other products which is why I opted for the Facial Toner. It doesn't sting my face, and I do like the aroma of the toner when I'm spraying it. However, at $37 with no noticeably amazing results, it's just too pricey to justify and I'd rather repurchase the Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner by Michael Todd Organics which is only $19 and a whopping 8.4oz. I definitely won't be repurchasing the Facial Toner given that there are much more affordable alternatives.
