Product Review: Laneige Brightening Sparkling Water Pop Essence

Between packing, prepping, and running other errands in anticipation of my big move, I was able to squeeze in time to write a review for the Laneige Pop Essence! Besides the Hanyul Artemisia line which I've been really enjoying lately (read my review here), my favorite essence for the past month or so has been the Laneige Brightening Sparkling Water Pop Essence. The product is as fun to use as the name, and yes, it really does come out in a bubbly texture!

Laneige Brightening Sparkling Water Pop Essence, 3.3oz
Price: $36

Sparkling water massages skin, alleviating the three main causes of skin dullness: dead skin cells, skin circulation, and impurities lodged in the pores; restore bright, healthy skin with sparkling water!

Water, Carbonated Water (Including French Sparkling Water), Dimethyl Ether, Alcohol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Glycerin, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Niacinamide, Menthoxypropanediol, Methyl Gluceth-20, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

This is the perfect skincare product for the summer. I really like how the product comes out bubbly and cold. I have oily skin, and it only gets worse in the summer, so putting on the pop essence brings down the temperature of my skin which then naturally curbs oil production. It's hydrating, but not overbearingly so. The scent isn't too bad either as it smells like lemon and citruses which I don't mind, but it also briefly smells like aerosol can air when you dispense it from the can which isn't so ideal. The texture of the essence is slightly sticky and gel like and milky white in color. It spreads very easily on the skin and absorbs well. Since I use more heavier serums at night, I use the pop essence once in the morning and I only spray around a nickel sized amount out which is enough for my oily skin. When coupled with an actual essence and a gel moisturizer, I feel like my skin is getting the hydration it needs without feeling weighed down.

Concluding Remarks

I highly recommend the pop essence especially for the summer. It's such a fun product to use, and it's great for those with oily skin since it moisturizes without feeling like your skin is drowning or weighed down. I think it could work for those with drier skin as well, but could benefit from using more of the product coupled with a heavier duty moisturizer. It would also make a fun gift for any skincare junkie as I don't really see any other product quite like it on the market yet. The essence is available at Amore and Aritarum stores across the US (see list of stores here).
