Product Review: Foreo Luna Mini 2

I can't believe the last time I posted was almost two months ago! Time flies, and I still feel like I have a ton of planning to do for the wedding. It's less than 3 months away at this point! Since the date is fast approaching, I've been trying to keep my skin in top condition. After a recent bout of breakouts after I came back to New York from California, it's now back to normal and right now I only have blemishes that are in the healing stage. I attribute the Foreo Luna Mini 2 cleansing tool to a part of the reason why I have been able to keep my skin clear. And yes, I had been using the Clarisonic Mia prior to the Luna and let me tell you the reasons why I think the Mini is superior to the Clarisonic.

Wardrobe Refresh And Rehaul

I have a confession to make - I've been neglecting my wardrobe lately. Recently I've been finding myself wearing the same very few outfits on rotation because I've been unhappy with most of the pieces in my wardrobe. I haven't read Marie Kondo's infamous book about decluttering, but I have been using her philosophy of "does it bring you joy" rule in editing my wardrobe. Last weekend, I filled up one garbage bag worth of clothing (which I plan to donate) and it actually felt really good! I still have a long way to go, and I may or may not have a secret Pinterest board to have a bird's eye view of the wardrobe I'm hoping to curate, but here are some recent purchases I've made to give my wardrobe a refresh.

Product Review: Glossier Invisible Shield Sunscreen

Every time Glossier releases a product beauty enthusiasts (me included) go crazy! The Invisible Shield was no exception. I mean, a clear gel like sunscreen? I'm religious about wearing my sunscreen everyday, but it took me ages to find a sunscreen that didn't feel oily, greasy, or overall gross on my skin (my favorite sunscreen is the Urban Factor Sunscreen by Shiseido, read my review here). The first day Glossier launched Invisible Shield, I was sure to purchase a bottle for myself because I just had to see what a serum like sunscreen felt like.

Product Empties - Spring 2017

It's empties time! It usually takes me a while to do empties posts, but shortly after my most recent empties post I actually finished up quite a few more products! It's mostly skincare as I don't really finish makeup products that often (the Hera Cushion Foundation and my soon to be empty Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundations are the few super rare exceptions) since I tend to wear the same makeup look everyday.

Sephora VIB Spring 2017 Event Haul

The Sephora Spring 2017 VIB event just passed and of course as per usual I made a couple purchases. Most of these purchases are new and some have been on my wishlist or to try list for a while. Unfortunately this wasn't my entire haul as I already returned one item (a Tom Ford lipstick! I already had a shade similar to it though so back it went) and I'm also planning to already return another purchase due to it not working well with my skin.

Product Review: Soap & Glory The Ultimelt Hot Cloth Cleanser

I bought this cleanser on a whim when stopping into a Duane Reade to get cotton pads. I've always wanted to try a hot cloth cleanser and the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser was at the top of my try list for hot cloth cleansers (but it's become rather hard to purchase online). So when I saw Soap and Glory's The Ultimelt, I said to myself "sure why not" (it even was on sale from $14 to $10 so I considered it my lucky day). This was my first skincare item that I purchased from Soap & Glory so I had no expectations and nothing to compare it to, but I was hopeful that it would be good given that I've heard good things about hot cloth cleansers in general. So I went home and used it for the first time that night.

Current Skincare Routine - Spring 2017

I hope my skin doesn't retaliate when I say this, but lately it's been behaving and my breakouts have been at a minimum. I have a feeling it's because I've been less oily lately and have been using products that really hydrate and calm my skin at the same time. Two new to me brands that I feel like have really improved the texture and condition of my skin are CosRx and The Ordinary products. Luckily for me too, their products are so affordable! As you can see from the picture above, a good chunk of the products I've been using are from CosRx and The Ordinary. Now that spring is officially here, I've been using more watery serums and a lighter daily moisturizer.

Product Review: The Ordinary Treatments & Oils

Up for review today are four products from a brand that I think it really changing the beauty industry. Sometimes it's hard to know whether a beauty brand is exaggerating the benefits of a product or just plain lying. I would like to think in an idea world that companies would put out an honest product and describe it as how it would work and the science behind it, but not claiming that it'll work miracles. I feel like The Ordinary line by Deciem (they call themselves the "abnormal beauty company), does exactly that which is clearly refreshing in the beauty industry that can sometimes be deceiving despite the glamorous packaging.

Three Things - 3.21.2017

Recently I was on the hunt for a new luxury perfume. I'm extremely picky about perfumes and I weirdly enough feel guilty when I stop using an old perfume for a newly discovered one (does anyone else also feel this? I can't be the only one). But this time around, I can't seem to quit my old perfume even though I found a new one I love!

Product Review: CosRx Galactomyces Power Essence

This review is a long time coming, I got the CosRX Galactomyces Power Essence quite some time ago but am now getting around to reviewing it. I've used up quite a bit of the product, I would say maybe I've gone through a third of the bottle. I love the min-max philosophy behind CosRx, they want to put out a product that has maximum effect with minimal packaging and price which creates a result-driven product but at an affordable cost. I'm all for that!

Winter 2017 - Empties

I've got another round of empties for you all today! Again, it's usually almost all skincare since I tend to stick with the same handful of makeup products. Speaking of skincare, I'm currently going through my Priming Moisturizer Rich moisturizer by Glossier like no joke - it's been crazy cold here in NYC! I won't be surprised if that shows up in the next empties post at the rate I'm using it. As usual with all of my empties posts, I'll share which ones I'll be repurchasing and which ones I will pass on.

Wedding Series: The Small Details

Pretty much every free moment I have on the weekends I try to dedicate to planning the wedding. Across my research (Style Me Pretty is my wedding bible!) I've come to gather small details that I think will bring any wedding to the next level - and most importantly, for a reasonable price! A big overarching philosophy that I'm trying to stick to for the wedding is purchasing items that I can reuse after the wedding. If I can't, then it must be a reasonable price! It'll depend on what else I come across, but I might do several posts about wedding planning tips during my own planning process!

Product Review: Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich

Every time Glossier launches a new skincare product I'm all over it - I had only tried a sample of the original Priming Moisturizer (when they apparently still gave out samples) and while I liked it, I didn't purchase it because I had so many other moisturizers similar to it that I had to finish up. But I purchased the Priming Moisturizer Rich this past winter because I ran out of my day wear winter moisturizer (Avene's Skin Recovery Cream) and I needed something to replace it. So it was a no brainer, and I happily purchased the Priming Moisturizer Rich. I know, you're saying, "but I spy the original Priming Moisturizer back there." Well, that's because Glossier by mistake sent me that first, but because their customer service is great, they immediately shipped out the right product and now I have both to compare!

Obsessed - Kristin Ess's New Haircare Line

Kristin Ess, the hair goddess behind Lauren Conrad and Lucy Hale's gorgeous tresses recently released an affordable hair care line at Target! I have really flat fine hair, and the Instagram beauty shots that Kristin takes of Lauren Conrad and Lucy Hale's hair is always full of texture and volume - basically something I only wish my hair could do. So when Kristin announced that she was releasing an affordable hair care line at Target of all places, I knew I had to grab them and try them out for myself.

Product Review: I'm From Honey Mask

I'm back! As announced in my last post (a couple weeks ago *sigh*), all my weekends have been wedding planning focused which means the poor ole blog has been getting neglected. It hasn't been in vain however! I've gotten tons of planning done just in the past few weekends alone! But enough of that, today's post is about another star - the I'm From Honey Mask, which in short, I'm utterly obsessed with. Seriously, the hype around this mask is real and totally deserving.

New to Me Beauty & a Short Announcement

I'm back from my hiatus! It's been a very eventful holiday season for me. As some of you may know, I am recently engaged! My parents were in town from California, and the next thing I know, wedding planning has gotten into full swing. It's very exciting, but stressful, and unfortunately the blog has to take a back-burner to the wedding planning. This means, my weekends will be dedicated to the wedding and not so much the blog unfortunately. From here on out until my wedding, blog posts won't be as consistent as before. This will be the only post of the week, and it's about new beauty items I've gotten as gifts for Christmas as well as some purchases over the holiday season.
